Karen has volunteered in the barn at Leg Up Farm since February 2011. She has been a key factor in getting the Therapeutic Riding Program up-and-running. Working beside Megan, Leg Up Farm's Equine Director, Karen helped train and exercise each horse in the program. Her goal was to make sure every horse was well-trained and gentle enough to work with our special needs children. Since April, Karen has been a regularly scheduled leader for the riding lessons, guiding the horses and students through the riding arena.
In addition to volunteering at Leg Up Farm, Karen has her own horses and also manages a local stable.
Karen's dedication doesn't end with the horses. She is eager to share her knowledge and expertise with anyone in need and enthusiastically helps other volunteers who are less experienced.
Karen brings a special warmth with her when she walks through the door. She always has a smile on her face, which has proven to be contagious! We are so happy and gracious to have her at Leg Up Farm!
Thank you, Karen for all your hard work!
