The positions we are looking to fill upon opening or within the first twelve months
of operation are:

After opening, volunteers will play an integral role on the team at Leg Up Farm.
Both youth and adult volunteers will be chosen for their maturity, personal integrity,
skills, patience, dependability, sensitivity and respect for our special needs children
and their families.
No matter what your skills or special talents are, it is likely that we have a place
and a need for them. Volunteer opportunities include:
Lightweight administrative duties such as photocopying, bulk mailings, data entry,
greeting clients, and answering phones.
A little bit of everything from painting and staining, to building shelves, washing
windows, mending fences, mowing grass, and shoveling snow.
Fun, creative, rewarding fundraising activities and special events designed to create
awareness and spur the community into saddling up and taking action!
Work with the riders and horses under the direct supervision of a NARHA certified
riding instructor or registered therapist. Volunteer as a horse leader, sidewalker,
or both. On-site training classes are required. Dependability is CRITICAL.
Volunteer to help with complete horse care, from mucking out stalls, to laying down
fresh hay, to washing and feeding the horses, turning them out to pasture, etc.
Planting and sowing a variety of organic fruits and vegetables for sale at our roadside
market, creating a peaceful serenity garden, landscape design and maintenance.
One-on-one assistance to special needs children under the direct supervision of
a licensed, certified special needs teacher.
Complete your community service hours here on the farm by helping in a variety of
ways. Group and individual opportunities available based on approved scheduling.

design, grant writing, computer expertise, etc., please

* As an integral part of its pre-employment screening process, Leg Up Farm may require
applicants to submit to drug and alcohol testing prior to beginning employment.
All offers of employment will be contingent up a successful (negative) drug test
result. Leg Up Farm also reserves the right as a condition of continued employment
that an employee be tested for controlled substance usage on both a random and “reasonable
suspicion” basis.
** All employees, including volunteers, will be required to submit FBI and PA State
Police Criminal History Background Checks, in addition to PA Child Abuse History
Clearances as a condition of employment under the Child Protective Services Law.
Results of any background checks must be acceptable to Leg Up Farm before being
allowed to work or volunteer at the facility.
