This first-of-it's-kind facility in the region has and will continue to foster progressive gains in serving children with special needs and developmental delays. Louis "Louie" Castriota, Jr. has taken his love of children and animals and merged them into a vision to bring therapists of different specialties under one roof to work together with families, community members, teachers, volunteers and physicians to give children with special needs the most comprehensive care in an environment that's comfortable and stimulating. Since 1997, Leg Up Farm has transformed from a dream into a reality, however, much work still needs to be done. In place already are the main therapy building, indoor riding area, and horse barn. To further unfold Leg Up Farm's mission, an interactive community center, music therapy, art therapy, Rainbow Therapy Gardens and expansion of Matthew's Town-a model town designed to teach children to engage in activities that support their individual therapy goals-are planned. Leg Up Farm needs your support to continue the dream with a goal of raising $5 million for the Courage to Dream Capital Campaign. As research shows, these services are needed and in demand by families within geographic reach. Up to 40,000 families within 50 miles will be positively impacted by Leg Up Farm and its comprehensive services.
