Leg Up Farm
Franklin County
Franklin County leaders recognized the need for an innovative, comprehensive pediatric therapy model in their community. As a result, a capital campaign was launched to raise funds needed for Leg Up Farm to bring its innovative pediatric therapy services to Franklin County.
For more than a decade, Leg Up Farm has been providing life-changing services for children with special needs in York County. Now, we are actively working to bring Leg Up Farm’s expertise to Franklin County. To date, the efforts of Franklin County leaders have resulted in a land donation in Fayetteville as well as funds raised to complete a portion of the site work.
Leg Up Farm was invited to join a task force re-envisioning the Penn State Mont Alto Campus following its planned closure, with the goal of creating an integrated learning hub that honors local history while building for the future. As part of that process, several capital campaign committee members had the opportunity to tour the Multi-Purpose Building on the Mont Alto campus and were struck by how similar its layout is to Leg Up Farm’s pediatric therapy center in York County. With the support of our other taskforce team members, we have been encouraged to look at the building as a possible site for Leg Up Farm-Franklin County.
As Penn State reviews the recent proposal, Leg Up Farm will continue fundraising and exploring both options. For more information, click here to read the full update that was recently emailed.

“We should all be excited about this.”
Emma was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome when she was 8 years old. The diagnosis caused anxiety and other emotional challenges. Courtney was frustrated by the lack of resources when trying to find support for Emma and their family. They would have been better equipped to deal with challenges if they had access to a place like Leg Up Farm. “Leg Up Farm will beautifully compliment available services and be a wonderful alternative for families who need support.”
