Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a team approach to counseling which integrates emotional, physical, relational and mental elements in the counseling process and incorporates horses. This model serves individuals of all ages and life experiences such as children with behavioral health concerns, youth at-risk, military service members, trauma survivors, first responders, individuals in recovery and families. Equine-Assisted Learning

Equine-Assisted Learning is an experiential learning approach that promotes the development of life skills for educational, professional and personal goals through equine interactions. This is suitable for individuals and groups such as school groups, sports teams, clubs, workplace and leadership teams.

Leg Up Farm is proud to offer equine-assisted psychotherapy for veterans and first responders, helping them work towards a renewed sense of self, developing trust and rebuilding relationships, finding a connection to others, promoting relaxation and improving communication skills.
